60 Seconds with Paul Watson, Quality & Compliance Manager

After spending a few years in the UPVC windows, doors, & conservatory industry, making use of his love for DIY, and being made redundant twice Paul decided to make a life changing decision to make something of the work life he had left and has not looked back.

Paul spent almost 10 years at Airbus building Satellites, working on multi-million-pound projects, working his way from a Technician to Senior Manufacturing Engineer with experience in Six Sigma (Green belt), lean manufacturing and using 3D software Catia V5 and inventor, and before he left worked on the ESA Mars rover which is due to be launched in 2022.

The last couple of years Paul has spent as a Manufacturing/ Production Engineer for a housing developer and an electronics company prior to joining NOTE Windsor in June 2021 as Quality and Compliance Manager.

What do you foresee as the biggest challenge in your job?
Making sure that here at Windsor we maintain our ISO accreditations and strive to attain others that we require to succeed.

What three words best describe yourself?
Organised, creative, motivated.

Where would you be and what would you typically be doing on a Tuesday morning?
Currently going through our QMS making sure all documents are up to date and relevant.

What interests do you have outside of work?
DIY, gardening and golf.

If you weren’t working in the electronics industry, what would be your ideal job?
Something that included using all my DIY knowledge.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
Being told I have the ability, take the opportunities to prove it.

What are your three top tips to succeed in life?

  1. You’re never too old to learn.
  2. Look for solutions not problems.
  3. A good work life balance.
