Today is Global recycling day

Recycled products generate invaluable resources, so it’s important to think about what we throw away–seeing opportunity, not waste. Today is a day for the world to come together and put the planet first.

Of the earth’s natural resources, we tend to think of six as the most important–water, air, oil, natural gas, coal, and minerals. Today, humanity can’t survive without them, but these resources are rapidly running out. We are carelessly using the earth’s natural resources without thinking about what will replace them, while billions of tons of waste pour into landfill sites every year.

The simple solution to this is recycling, “The Seventh Resource”, which can be used again and again.

Global Recycling Day has the goal to let the world understand that recycled resources generate invaluable resources. The day falls on 18 March every year and aims to promote the vitality of recycling across the globe.

Recycling at NOTE

Recycling is a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect our natural resources to save the future of our planet and humanity. Recycling is recognised as the 12th of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 2030, and many individuals, governments and organisations, like NOTE, are taking direct action to support the global green agenda.

All NOTE’s subsidiaries are environmentally certified according to ISO 14001. Source sorting and recycling are an important part of the work. Read more about NOTEs sustainability work at www.note-ems.com/en/sustainability.

Now NOTE wants to encourage a person, organisation or company that has good ideas in recycling and that inspires you to make a difference. Proposals are sent to Karin Brunnberg, Corporate Quality & Sustainability Director, karin.brunnberg@note-ems.com.
