Reducing climate impact - responsible innovation
At NOTE, sustainability is an integral part of our business. As a manufacturing partner to leading industrial companies, we take our responsibility for the environment and society very seriously-for our customers, our employees and future generations.
NOTE joined the UN Global Compact, the world's largest corporate responsibility initiative, in 2011. This means we support and work on the basis of ten fundamental principles in human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption.
Our environmental commitments
Carbon neutral operations (Scope 1 & 2) Our goal is to become 100 % carbon neutral in our own operations by:
- Use renewable or fossil-free electricity where possible
- Ensuring energy-efficient operation in all factories
Full transparency on emissions (Scope 3) We are expanding our climate reporting to cover the entire value chain, in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. This means:
- Mapping of emissions from suppliers, transport and product life cycle
- Transparency towards customers and stakeholders
Safe and healthy work environments All NOTE units will be certified to ISO 45001 within two years of acquisition. We ensure:
- A safe, inclusive and resilient work environment
- A strong focus on prevention and employee health
In addition to the active measures aimed at achieving climate-neutral production, we have chosen to invest in sustainability projects in East Africa as part of our environmental responsibility.
Communication On Progress
A COP (Communication On Progress) is reported to the UN annually. This describes NOTE's work on human rights, labour law, the environment and anti-corruption.
