NOTE, one of Sweden's leading contract manufacturers of electronics, has signed an agreement that will cover the production of all of \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms' products. The agreement, which guarantees a minimum volume of MSEK 150, also includes taking over \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms' in-house electronics production operation in Bj\u00f6rbo.<\/strong><\/div>\n

NOTE has been manufacturing \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms' forklift truck computers for harsh environments since last spring. The co-operative arrangement is now being expanded to include \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms' other area of activity, wireless radio control systems. In conjunction with the expansion, NOTE is taking over \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms' in-house production operations in Bj\u00f6rbo, which employ some 20 people.<\/p>\n

\u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms recently landed their second prestigious order from the USA. Ford had previously chosen \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms, and now Mercedes has also selected \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms computers for their production facility in Alabama.<\/p>\n

\"What we are seeing is the start of a definite expansion phase for our company,\" says \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms Group President Marianne Arosenius. \"The co-operation with NOTE gives us an opportunity to concentrate our energies on our core activities. i.e. developing, marketing, selling and servicing our products.\" <\/p>\n

\"We are very pleased with the confidence that \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms has shown in us,\" says NOTE Group President Erik Stenfors. \"Within the framework of our special concept for taking over the production units there, we are now building a so-called Gateway in Bj\u00f6rbo.\" <\/p>\n

The agreement, which will initially run for three years, covers all of \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms' products and guarantees a minimum volume of MSEK 150. \u00c5kerstr\u00f6ms' in-house production operation, which comprises some 20 people in Bj\u00f6rbo, are being converted into a so-called Gateway for the NOTE Group in Dalarna. Organisationally, the operation will come under the auspices of the NOTE plant in Torsby.<\/p>\n

\"There are many interesting product companies in Dalarna,\" says Gerd Levin-Nygren, CEO of NOTE Torsby, whose newly built production facility was dedicated by \"Svennis\" the other week. \"Our concept, which is based in part on nearness to our customers, has been greatly appreciated, and we are counting on acquiring additional customers through the unit in Bj\u00f6rbo.\"<\/p>\n
