Today, 22 March 2004, marks the fifth anniversary of the first step in the creation of the NOTE group. The NOTE group has its origins in EuroSupply AB in Arninge, Sweden, with subsidiaries in Poland, which was founded in 1999 on the initiative of Erik Stenfors. The business concept was to broker manufacturing assignments from Sweden to plants in Central Europe, and EuroSupply also started building a global network. The NOTE group consists of a number of subsidiaries that manage production and materials sourcing. What all NOTE group companies have in common is that they possess solid expertise and long experience in their respective segments.<\/p>\n
At the beginning of 2000, EuroSupply was looking for its own manufacturing facility in Sweden. At the same time, one of Sweden's fastest growing companies in the field, Norrtelje Elektronik, was interested in a co-operation partner. The companies merged. The business concept of EuroSupply and the merger with traditional Swedish industry immediately proved successful. Both net sales and profits rose sharply in the first year. In autumn 2000, Trienta was acquired in Torsby in V\u00e4rmland - an industry specialising in automotive electronics with a thirty-year history. In early 2001, the group changed its name to NOTE, with Sten Dybeck, the principal owner, elected Chairman of the Board of the parent company and Erik Stenfors, one of the founders of EuroSupply, appointed CEO of NOTE AB. <\/p>\n
The group has grown strongly and has been on Svenska Dagbladet's growth list for seven years in a row. Other companies in the group are NOTE Lund, which was added in autumn 2002, and NOTE Bor\u00e5s, which was acquired in August last year. The latest addition is NOTE Nyk\u00f6ping-Sk\u00e4nninge, acquired in December 2003. <\/p>\n
In 2001, the ems-ALLIANCE was created, formalising the international cooperation developed through EuroSupply. The alliance is made up of ems manufacturers in six countries: the United States, China, Brazil, India, Italy and Sweden. Through the alliance, a customer can easily obtain manufacturing in any of the member countries.
\nA key factor in the electronics sector is the high cost of sourcing components. To address this, NOTE Components was formed in the same year to manage materials sourcing cost-efficiently, not just for group companies, but also for ems-ALLIANCE.<\/p>\n
