In Herrljunga, around 40 employees work in a close-knit and dedicated organisation where everyone makes a difference. We are now looking for a production technician who wants to help develop efficient workflows, improve working methods and lay the foundations for modern and competitive production.
Job description
As a production technician, you’ll have a broad and varied role in which you’ll work closely with the business and play a key part in creating smart, safe and efficient workflows – with a focus on quality, health and safety, and solutions that work in everyday practice.
Much of the initial focus will be on preliminary and final cost estimates, time studies and process improvement. You will examine how the work is currently carried out, monitor time and workflows, and identify opportunities to simplify, clarify and develop working methods in collaboration with your colleagues on site.
Examples of duties:
- Carry out time studies and prepare cost estimates and post-project analyses relating to production and repairs
- Develop and streamline production, logistics and repair processes
- Lead and participate in improvement initiatives based on, for example, Lean and 5S
- Contribute to smart working practices with a focus on quality, ergonomics and health and safety
- Be involved in the development of prototypes, pilot production runs and the launch of new or modified products

- Develop and streamline production, logistics and repair processes
- Lead and participate in improvement initiatives based on, for example, Lean and 5S
- Contribute to smart working practices with a focus on quality, ergonomics and health and safety
- Be involved in the development of prototypes, pilot production runs and the launch of new or modified products
- Manage product changes and update documentation, items, structures and formulations
- Monitor and analyse statistics relating to production and repairs
- Develop instructions, working methods and support to assist colleagues in production and the repair process
- Be involved in investments and the introduction of new assistive devices, equipment and workflows
- Work closely with production, quality, logistics, repair/service and customer projects
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience of production engineering, industrial development or similar work within the manufacturing industry. You thrive when working closely with the business, enjoy understanding how things work in practice, and have a natural drive to improve, simplify and create clarity.
You do not need to have experience in the electronics industry, but you do need to have a good understanding of production flows and feel comfortable switching between analysis, documentation, system-related work and hands-on improvement work on the shop floor.
We believe you have:
- Experience of production engineering work in the manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of preliminary cost estimates, final cost estimates and time studies
- Experience of process improvement, Lean or 5S
- Ability to analyse workflows, working methods and statistics – and translate this into practical improvements
- An understanding of how the working environment, ergonomics and quality are linked to efficient processes
- Post-secondary education in engineering or equivalent experience
- Confident in spoken and written English
