Information from NOTE regarding the situation in Japan
On behalf of NOTE, I would like to express our sympathy for the people affected by the earthquake and its subsequent tsunami and accidents in Japan.
NOTE is working closely and in dialogue with manufacturers and distributors to analyse the situation that has arisen for the Japanese business environment in general, and for the electronics industry in particular, as a result of the earthquake. Our initial analyses indicate that a number of major Japanese manufacturers have plants in or near the area affected by the tsunami. NOTE is focusing its continued analysis work and follow-up on a number of priority manufacturers, and in consultation with customers, is doing its utmost to minimise disruption to our customers' materials deliveries.
The situation is challenging and at the moment it is difficult to foresee the impact of possible indirect consequences such as lack of electricity, destruction of roads, etc. on deliveries.
Yours sincerely
Mr Peter Laveson
