NOTE receives major order from Åkerströms
NOTE has been chosen as a partner by the electronics company in fierce competition
Åkerströms Trux AB. NOTE to manufacture industrial computers for forklifts
for Åkerströms, which is enjoying great success on the world market with this
product. The order value is estimated at SEK 30 million during the
initial year and will grow further. Production will be
take place at NOTE in Torsby, the group's Centre of Excellence for
aerospace/industrial applications.
Åkerströms has great success with its proprietary ruggedised computers
for forklifts, the Trux series. Recently Åkerströms was selected as
truck supplier to Ford in the United States. The order is the largest in the company's
history. Ford has a total of 17 production facilities in the US and they
is now equipping its forklifts at all its factories with the wireless ruggedised
the truck computers from Åkerströms.
- The market for truck computers is tough and places great demands on
quality and delivery times. It is also a market with a large
growth, which means that it is a critical choice to select the right
contract manufacturer. We have chosen NOTE because we are confident that
they will fulfil our high standards of quality and
reliability," says Mikael Andersson, CEO of Åkerströms.
The contract with Åkerströms means that NOTE is responsible for the complete
the production of forklift computers. Deliveries will start already in May 2004 and
estimated at an order value of SEK 30 million during the initial
the year. The contract runs for several years and may be extended
further.

The wireless computers are mounted in warehouse trucks and used to
streamline the logistics flow. As computers are used in a tough,
industrial environment, the requirements for reliability and durability are
very large.
NOTE will build up a dedicated production group for
the forklift computers at the group's new factory in Torsby. The CEO of Torsby, Gerd
Ms Levin-Nygren was recently named Manager of the Year by Chef magazine. Gerd has
