NOTE inaugurates in Lund with Alliance meeting

NOTE reopened its fire-ravaged plant in Lund, NOTE Xperi, and the global network of electronics manufacturers, the ems-ALLIANCE, met. During the days in Lund, some 70 Swedish and international companies met EMS suppliers for discussions on materials sourcing and global electronics production. The Alliance also presented its operational model for procurement and low production cost. The Alliance was represented by its members from Brazil, India, Italy, China, Sweden and the USA.

- "Global sourcing of materials is much discussed by manufacturers now," said Marina Filipsson, Chair of ems-ALLIANCE. "Many of these companies are now looking for alternative solutions to reduce material and production costs. During the meeting in Lund, we have had the opportunity to discuss trends and exchange ideas. In light of the current market situation, original equipment manufacturers are keen to discuss creative cost solutions," Marina continued.
According to Marina Filipsson, the first operational Alliance model, first introduced by NOTE AB in Sweden, is currently being extended to the other five companies in the Alliance group.
- One of our main goals is to be able to offer our clients a competitive advantage as an EMS supplier, in the form of the lowest possible cost of materials and production," says Sten Dybeck, Chairman of the Board of NOTE. "The Alliance model has helped NOTE's customers achieve efficiency and growth, which also enables the growth of our own business," continues Sten Dybeck. "We are now transferring this 'recipe' for efficiency and growth to our Alliance partners, so that they can offer the same benefits to their customers," concludes Sten Dybeck.

The conference started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for NOTE Xperi's new plant. The plant was badly damaged by a fierce fire in February this year, and was reopened with pomp and ceremony.
- The new plant is fully customised to meet our customers' demands for flexibility and innovation," explains NOTE Xperi's CEO Kjell-Åke Andersson. "Our NOTE Lab is located in the middle of the factory premises, and our Centre of Excellence, which focuses mainly on medical technology, has three new surface mounting lines," concludes Kjell-Åke.
