NOTE increases strongly
NOTE is a contract manufacturer of electronics, with plants in Norrtälje and Torsby, and offices in Kista, Gothenburg and Gdansk. While most of its peers in the sector are making losses and being forced to make redundancies, NOTE is going against the grain and improving its profits.
Sten Dybeck, NOTE's Chairman of the Board, explains that one reason for this success is the group's fast decision-making processes, and that NOTE succeeded in broadening its customer base with several new customers from different sectors in the past six months. "Our way of working in flexible production teams, where each team acts as the customer's own production unit, is another key success factor."
Production close to the market on four continents
NOTE has built up a global network of electronics manufacturers under the ems-ALLIANCE brand, an idea that originally came from airline alliances. Through this network, NOTE conducts close-to-market electronics production on four continents, which has become important for many Swedish customers. "Several companies have realised that a large part of the product's cost comes from the distribution stage and therefore require production close to the market. Through the alliance, we can offer the same concept as the major foreign-owned manufacturers, without investing in factories outside Sweden," says Sten Dybeck.
Bright future
NOTE sees continued good times. The group's ability to generate profits even in bad times gives many customers confidence in their co-operation.
"One concern that buyers of production have is losing expertise on their products in the event of staff cuts or factory closures," concludes Mr Dybeck.
