NOTE signs agreement with Libego AB
NOTE has signed a co-operation agreement for Libego AB's product VoiSec. The initial order value for the first 12-month period is estimated at some SEK 15 m.
The agreement with Libego is to give NOTE Nyköping-Skänninge AB responsibility for the complete production of the Voisec talking note button. The agreement includes NOTE contributing its production know-how to ensure cost-efficient production. The first serial delivery is expected in September 2004.
- Libego is a start-up company with a very interesting and exciting product. With NOTE's production know-how, Voisec has good prospects of becoming a successful commercial product," says Nicklas Johnson, Sales Manager at NOTE Nyköping-Skänninge AB.
VoiSec is a small button for recording, storing and playing back short voice messages with good sound quality. VoiSec, which has also been called the talking note button, has several applications and possible users. A well thought-out design makes it very easy to use, even for people with disabilities (www.voisec.se).
The development of the VoiSec concept has been encouraged and supported by Swedish disability organisations and authorities. The VoiSec project was awarded by VINNOVA and NUTEK in the Vinn Nu idea competition in 2003, and in 2004 VoiSec was named one of the ten best ideas in Venture Cup East. The concept has been recognised in several European countries. VoiSec is currently sold mainly through organisations for the visually impaired.
The Linköping-based company Libego AB has many years of industrial experience of development issues at a strategic level, including technology as well as design, users and markets in the areas of consumer electronics, digital media and mobility. The founders come most recently from management positions in global technology companies.
