NOTE wins important contract for Philips Healthcare
After an extensive evaluation process, NOTE has been appointed manufacturing partner to Philips Mammography Solutions, a division of Philips Healthcare. Philips Mammography Solutions is reorganising its operations in Solna, Sweden, which means that a large part of its in-house electronics assembly will be outsourced to NOTE's facility in Norrtälje. The relocation of production enables NOTE Norrtälje's capacity to be utilised for things like assembling complex systems in cleanroom production, including testing.
Philips Mammography Solutions develops and manufactures the Philips MicroDose digital mammography device, a proven and powerful diagnostic tool that can detect breast cancer at an early stage. The collaboration focuses on the MicroDose detector, a complex device that is later assembled into a high image quality MicroDose module capable of high efficiency at low radiation doses.
"When we started the supplier selection process, we had limited experience of NOTE, but we were impressed from the outset by the corporate culture, people and specialised competence at the Norrtälje plant, and the formal evaluation process confirmed this. NOTE is a partner that provides us with the engineering services and manufacturing support we need, combined with flexibility and geographical proximity. NOTE's values, working methods and communication are consistently of a high standard, from management to the factory floor, and that gives us confidence," says Ivan Davegårdh, Senior Manager Operations at Philips Mammography Solutions.
"We are very pleased and proud that Philips has chosen us as a new strategic partner in connection with the reorganisation of Philips Mammography in competition with existing suppliers. This partnership suits our strategy because Philips is a customer that sets high standards, which we seek," says Henrik Nygren, CFO and acting President and CEO of NOTE.
"Our enhanced competence and ISO 13485 certification continue to pay dividends," summarises Martin Gutberg, CEO of NOTE in Norrtälje.
