NOTE's Gerd Levin-Nygren elected Manager of the Year

This year, Chef magazine has named NOTE Torsby's CEO, Gerd Levin-Nygren, Manager of the Year. Gerd has been recognised for changing the reputation of the Torsby plant through her empathetic leadership. The business is also thriving financially, and there is unrivalled job satisfaction at NOTE Torsby.

Gerd Levin-Nygren's day-to-day job is to manage NOTE Torsby's plant, with 130 employees. She started there in the warehouse 32 years ago, and has since worked her way to the top. She is very involved in sales work, and a valued counterpart in a very male-dominated sector.

- "It's both an honour and a pleasure to be named Manager of the Year," says Gerd. Naturally, it's a great honour for me, but it's also great for the whole NOTE group, because we're one of the few successful companies in an industry that's had a tough time. My goal as a manager is to have satisfied customers while having my staff with me, and with this award, I feel I've succeeded," Gerd concludes.

The Chef of the Year award will be presented during the Competence Gala at Berns Salonger in Stockholm on Tuesday 16 March and the jury's motivation reads: "The Chef of the Year combines a strong sense of place with the ability to demand results in a globalised and highly competitive industry. Through leadership characterised by knowledge of people, responsiveness and decisiveness, the Chef of the Year shows the way to attractive jobs, growth and hope for the future in sparsely populated areas."
