Returning Atlas Copco chooses NOTE

Atlas Copco's Wagner division is moving its production of low-loading trucks for underground transport of mining products from Portland in the USA to Sweden. Now the deal with the all-Swedish electronics manufacturer NOTE has been finalised for the associated electrical systems.

- We're going to make the complete electrical systems for the low loaders," says Gerd Levin-Nygren, CEO of NOTE Torsby. - NOTE Torsby specialises in vehicle electronics, and we already make electrical systems for drilling rigs for Atlas Copco Rock Drills. So this deeper collaboration with Atlas Copco is very positive for us," Gerd continues.

Atlas Copco has just adopted an aggressive product development programme for forklift trucks as global competition has intensified in recent years. The repatriation of the Wagner division is expected to streamline production.
- "We see great synergies with the move to Sweden," says Peter Trimmel, strategic buyer at Atlas Copco. - "When choosing a supplier in Sweden, long-term viability was very important. By letting NOTE take care of our production, we've chosen a strategic supplier for both the short and long term," continues Peter. "The new electrical systems are similar to the electrical systems NOTE Torsby manufactures for Atlas Copco today, and we're seeing major synergies there too.

- We're starting production in September, and we see huge potential in this deal. Atlas Copco will be able to become one of our biggest customers," concludes Gerd Levin-Nygren, CEO of NOTE Torsby.
