Strategic expansion within the NOTE group

NOTE will open a representative office in southern China and relocate its subsidiary NOTE Components to the Stockholm region in the autumn.
This is part of the strategic investment being made in Sourcing.

NOTE is opening a new representative office, which will be operational on 1 August 2005. The location of the office has been carefully chosen; the city of Shenzhen is located in the Guandong province in southern China, which facilitates distribution to Europe.

”We're looking forward to signing co-operation agreements directly with Chinese component manufacturers soon. This is important, because a large proportion of the components we use are manufactured in China,” says Kjell-Åke Andersson, CEO of NOTE AB.

On 1 June, Derek Teagle was appointed Head of the Representative Office. He has many years of experience in Sourcing in the EMS industry in China. Derek Teagle has been living in China for a couple of years, is well acquainted with the culture and language, and has built up a wide network of business relationships.

”The office means that NOTE can work more cost-efficiently, since sourcing is done without intermediaries. It will also be easier to ensure the quality of the products and components we already manufacture there, as quality control can be conducted directly on site. Naturally, this also benefits customers,” says Bengt Emesten, CEO of NOTE Components AB and one of the driving forces behind the project. NOTE expects up to 10 % of the group's sourcing volume to be sourced from China in future.

In the autumn, subsidiary NOTE Components AB will move to the Stockholm region. This is to facilitate collaboration with the group's strategic suppliers in Sweden and Europe.
