Fast grower creates billion-dollar Swedish electronics manufacturer
Swedish electronics producers NOTE and Xperi are merging to create a group with combined sales of just under SEK 1 billion while maintaining profitability. The NOTE group is the only Swedish-owned global subcontractor of electronics production, with customers like ABB, Bewator, ATSS, Nobel Biocare and Volvo. The merger is another step in NOTE's strategy to continue growing rapidly and profitably with local presence and global delivery capacity.
"NOTE and Xperi are a very good fit," says Sten Dybeck, CEO of NOTE, "Xperi's strong position in southern Sweden gives NOTE a powerful entry into the commercially very dynamic Skåne region. NOTE will now cover all key regions in Sweden. I also see great potential for synergies and the benefits we can derive from complementary competences:"
NOTE has been able to grow rapidly and profitably through well-developed business processes. NOTE has been on Svenska Dagbladet's list of Sweden's fastest growing companies for six years. Supported by NOTE's experience of developing profitable electronics production, NOTE will be able to contribute to increased revenues and profits at Xperi. Acquisitions are part of NOTE's growth strategy, and the experience NOTE has gained from previous integration processes will be very important in co-ordinating Xperi in the NOTE group.
"Through the merger, we can continue to grow without losing momentum," says Kjell-Åke Andersson, CEO of Xperi. "The strength we gain from working together provides great opportunities to take on ever larger production assignments. Xperi has always been profitable, and the opportunities we get together with NOTE will strongly contribute to improved financial margins," concludes Kjell-Åke Andersson, who will remain CEO of the renamed NOTE Xperi AB and also take a seat on the parent company's Board of Directors.
With Xperi, the NOTE group will have sales of over SEK 900 million, and Xperi will be one of the largest group companies. The group will have over 600 employees in several of its own production plants in Sweden and Eastern Europe, and conduct operations on four continents.
