Nearsourcing brings new customers to NOTE
Tour & Andersson is the world leader in balancing valves for hydronic heating and cooling systems.
An agreement has been signed for the development and manufacture of an advanced instrument for adjusting these systems, TA-SCOPE. Production in larger volumes will start at NOTE Torsby in the autumn.
NOTE collaborated closely with QRtech, which specialises in product development and industrialisation of electronics and software, during its development work. NOTE's component database NOTEfied has been used in this work. It is a unique, proprietary tool that has both technical and commercial information on over 60,000 components. Using NOTEfied simplifies, speeds up and secures material flows, from strategically correct component selection to finished products.
NOTE's Nearsourcing Centre in Torsby, Sweden, has cutting-edge competence in development, industrialisation and volume production. With several years' experience and expertise in manufacturability, they help customers with solutions for complex products.
In recent years, NOTE has converted several plants to Nearsourcing Centres according to the Nearsourcing business model, which is based on three main areas: establishing Nearsourcing Centres close to customers, cost control over the product lifecycle and cost-efficient production located where it is optimal for the customer.
”In the current economic climate, it's extremely important that customers get their products to market as quickly as possible. The collaboration between us and NOTE, and the NOTEfied tool, has been key to meeting customer requirements. With the help of NOTEfied, we've had good control over which components to select in terms of lead-times, availability and lifecycle status, for example,” explains Ronald Hedström, Head of Development at QRtech.
”For us, it was important to find a supplier that maintains high quality, has control and influence over the supply chain, and has production capacity for larger volumes in regions where the cost picture is in our favour. In NOTE, we've found a partner that has both international and local world-class manufacturing, that simply has the whole package,” comments Joakim Merstrand, strategic buyer at Tour & Andersson.
