Investing big in Sweden
- The most important thing in the year was that the group expanded and established three customer regions: South, East and West," says Sten Dybeck, Chairman of NOTE AB. Region South was formed last autumn through the merger with Xperi, which has a plant in Lund and subsidiaries in Lithuania. Like other group companies, Xperi is a supplier of EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services), and has been included in NOTE's Balance Sheet and Income Statement since 1 October. In May, NOTE opened a sales office with a prototype workshop in Gothenburg, which, together with NOTE's Torsby plant, is responsible for Region West. Region East is managed by NOTE's Kista office and factory in Norrtälje.

Good prospects for the future
The NOTE group's financial position also strengthened in 2002. At year-end, the equity ratio was 21 per cent, up from 15 per cent the year before. Equity increased by SEK 57 m to SEK 92.5 m. The market for EMS suppliers has not been affected by the economic downturn to the same extent as related industries. The EMS industry was virtually unchanged in 2002 compared to 2001 - Most industry analysts expect the EMS market to start growing again in 2003. But even if the economy remains weak, the positive trend in our order backlog suggests that NOTE will continue to grow in terms of sales and profits," concludes Chairman Sten Dybeck.
